Ten rounds into their first season in the top flight, Seal find themselves rubbing shoulders with the most-in-form clubs, as the outfit is just a point behind the top slot
Murang'a Seal have been punching above their weight since gaining promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, as the club sits second on the log.
Ten rounds into their first season in the top flight, Seal find themselves rubbing shoulders with the most-in-form clubs, as the outfit is just a point to the apex of the standings.
The Gabriel Njoroge-coached side has won six times, drawn twice, and lost a similar number of matches to place behind log leaders Posta Rangers, who are also having a good season.
Seal winger Erick Balecho revealed that the hunger to elevate the status of the club further is what has been fueling them to register good results.
The club has been on an upward trajectory since its inception, coming through the ranks and being fortunate enough to get promoted last season.
While Shabana, whom they were promoted to, is struggling to unhook themselves from the red zone, Seal is on top of their game.
"Everyone on the team wants to see it get to the next level. We are always hungry for success, and this explains our good start. We want to be as competitive as we can," said the winger.
Balecho, who was among the players who helped the club gain promotion, has a goal against his name, and he understands that a lot is expected of him.
The left-footed player pledged to contribute to more goals and help Seal, who shocked former champions Tusker 2-1 last weekend, sustain their good run.
"I can say so far so good, although I hope to score more goals," added Balecho.
Seal will face yet another tough test in Gor Mahia when they face the record Kenyan champions this weekend.
