Dockers move to third on the log and are on track to a third place finish with two games left to the end of the campaign

Mathare United will have to wait longer to get themselves off the direct chop after suffering a humiliating 3-0 defeat in the hands of Bandari FC at Mbaraki Grounds.

Goals from Abdalla Hassan, Keegan Ndemi, and Johanna Mwita were all Bandari needed to ascend to third and leave Mathare United with uncertainties on whether they will survive relegation or not.

Abdalla Hassan opened the scoring with a spectacular whip from a corner kick to give Bandari the lead just 15 minutes in the game.

Before that goal, Abdalla was a constant threat to Mathare's backline, bringing in crosses and producing superb runs from wide.

The Dockers were dealt a blow just three minutes after the goal with midfielder Danson Namasaka unable to continue after pulling a muscle and thus had to be replaced, and Wilberforce Lugogo took his place.

Mathare's custodian David Okello had to do extra work to keep Bandari's attacking threat at bay, denying the Ugandan duo of Umar Kasumba and William Wadri a couple of times.

However, he could not hold help Mathare avoid another goal in the first half as much as he would have wanted as Keegan doubled Bandari's lead with a thunderous strike with 10 minutes left to play in the first half.

Mathare responded well with a series of attacks but Michael Wanyika, making a rare start in goal for bandari stood firm to ensure his team went into the break with their lead intact.

On resumption, Mathare United came back with hopes of rescuing at least a point and pushed hard but Bandari took back control sooner than later.

Mwita made sealed the victory for Casa Mbungo's side with a well-taken goal just eight minutes after the resumption, shattering any hopes of a comeback that Mathare had been left with.

The goal scorer for the opening goal, Abdallah, continued his trickery in the second half, causing Kennedy Ochieng' trouble on the left all through.

However, he was withdrawn with a couple of minutes left to play and his place taken by Darius Msagha.

The win sees Bandari move to third on the log with 49 points while Mathare remains 15th with 24 points, with both teams having two games to play.
