Leopards defender seeking to register five assists and a goal this season

Versatile AFC Leopards defender Lewis Bandi is thirsting to register at least five assists and a goal in his maiden season in the top flight.

Bandi was promoted to the senior team at the start of the season and made his debut during their 2-1 win over KCB in January coming in for Isaac Kipyegon.

The national U20 player made good use of the chance and impressed the technical bench whom have since retained him in the starting team at the expense of the highly-rated Yusuf Mainge.

Having bagged an assist against Nairobi City Stars in March, the youngster says he is eyeing to complete four more assists and score a goal in the remaining matches.

I have an individual target of registering five assists and a goal this season. I already have an assist against my name and I am looking forward to getting more. The confidence and support from the team has enabled me to settle and meet the demands of top flight football,” he said.

The Eastleigh Boys High School alumnus who occasionally slots as a full back right and left revealed that he was talented enough to use both feet hence the comfortability. Bandi who was part of the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom All-Stars team that travelled to Spain for a ten-day camp in 2019 credited senior defenders at the club for holding his hand thus far.

I don’t have a problem with being deployed on both flanks for I can use both feet. I am privileged to play with experienced defenders who guide me and direct me on the pitch. They always encourage me to work hard and remain on course to achieve my dreams,” he added.
