Bandari head coach John Baraza has hailed praise on his charges for their efforts in Saturday's clash against Kariobangi Sharks in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match that the dockers carried the day after dispatching the William Muluya-led team 2-0 at Kasarani Annex.

The win not only lifted the Mombasa-based club to fifth on the league log but also ensured the team won three consecutive matches for the first time this season, symbolizing a trajectory rise since the elevation of the former Kenyan international following the sacking of Twahir Muhiddin.

Speaking after the encounter, the former Mara Sugar tactician noted that the team displayed utmost determination in the game, sticking to his script that enabled them to outsmart Sharks in their own backyard.

It was a tough game, but we had prepared well, and they played as we expected. My boys followed the tactical approach we had planned, and we managed to contain them. When the chance opened up, we utilized our moment,” said Baraza.

The former Kenya international also showered praise on his Ugandan striker Derrick Nsibambi for capitalizing on the chances created, describing him as a complete striker and playmaker James Kinyanjui for his elegant athleticism that troubled the Sharks, but he also pointed out that the whole unit was up to the task.

"Kinyanjui and Nsibambi have speed and skills in holding the ball, which disrupted the opponents and created a lot of chances for us as we had expected,” he added.

The Ugandan attacker, Nsibambi – has been instrumental for the Dockers this term, scoring four goals in the last three matches, with goals coming against Police FC, Shabana, and a brace on Saturday.

Bandari are only three points behind leaders Posta Rangers, who on Saturday settled for a 1-1 draw against AFC Leopards.

After the international break, the Mombasa-based side will host FC Talanta and Muhoroni Youth at Mbaraki Sports Club.
