Bayern Munich star out of the AFCON Qualifiers because of a false e-mail

Instead to Eric Choupo-Moting, the Cameroonian FA sent the invitation to themselves by mistake
Eric Choupo-Moting will not play for Cameroon in the upcoming African Cup of Nations Qualifying matches. This title would usually be followed by explanations like „due to injury“, „lack of form“, „he’s retiring from the teams“, „arguments with the National coach“ and so on. But to be left out due to an e-mail blunder? That’s just unbelievable.
And yet, that’s exactly what happened to the Bayern striker. Cameroonian coach Toni Conceicao invited the 32-years-old Choupo-Moting for the upcoming matches with Cape Verde and Rwanda in March’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. But, the player never responded. Why? Well, Cameroonian FA send the invitation e-mail to themselves by mistake, and not to the player!
„I was contacted by the association to find out what was going on. I contacted FC Bayern and they confirmed that they had not received the invitation. It looks like she sent it to the wrong email address instead. For me, that’s a lack of professionalism. When sending invitations, be sure to send them to the correct address. If that doesn’t happen, I don’t understand why it’s the club’s or Maxim’s fault” said player’s father (and manager) Camille Choupo-Moting to Naja TV.
Sorry I couldn’t be available at today’s match...Due to health reasons

I hope nothing will stop me from the being in the next group with the national selection.
I thank you. ????❤️???? pic.twitter.com/Rtdsybq5hi
The mess was revealed when Cameroon published the list of players who were called up for this international break, and Choupo-Motting’s name was not featured on the list. When pressed, Cameroon manager Antonio Conceicao said that Choupo-Moting had not responded to his invitation. And that’s when his father Camille intervened and defended his son in the media. Maybe next time they should call every player in person, just in case? It’s only 26 players..
