After 12 years at Santiago Bernabeu, the time has come for Luka Modric, 38, to find himself a new, probably the last team in his professional career
Luka Modric has been a paramount player for Real Madrid for more than a decade. However, this season, the 38-year-old's role has been dramatically dropped.
According to relevant Spanish football website Relevo, his benching against RB Leipzig in the Champions League was the final straw, and he is moving towards an exit. Modric has started only 15 of their 36 games this season, and while he has not been public about it, the frustration within for the lack of minutes is growing.

Therefore, Madrid's board are already thinking about how to prepare for his departure. They would prefer to take the bitterness out of the end and are looking for emotional and unique ways to pay tribute to their legendary midfielder. One of their options, seemingly, is announcing his exit before the end of the season and having the stadiums and the fans pay homage to him every weekend.
