Simba who were shockingly tossed out of the lucrative competition by UD Songo of Mozambique in the preliminary round last season saw off Vita to advance to the quarterfinals with a game to spare.
Zambian play-maker Clatous Chama was the tormentor in chief as his brace and a goal apiece from Rally Bwalya and Miquissone reduced Zemanga Soze's first half effort to a mere consolation.
The Msimbazi based club began their search for a place in the final eight by bagging a vital win away to Vita before humbling champions Al Ahly in the subsequent match in Dar es Salaam.
Simba reaped four points from Sudanese giants Al Merrikh and following today's win, Didier Gomes charges sit at the summit of the pool with an unassailable ten points.
