It's a seven-goal thriller to end seven-goal thrillers in Sardinia

What a way to get your first win of the season! Cagliari staged a breathtaking comeback to beat Frosinone in a mad Serie A encounter on Sunday afternoon. Despite missing a penalty and trailing 3-0 with just 20 minutes remaining, Claudio Ranieri's team staged a memorable comeback which included not one but two added-time goals.

Cagliari faced another newly promoted side, Frosinone. The visitors, eager to recover from their 2-1 loss to Bologna in their previous match, started strongly. Matias Soule, playing on loan from Juventus, had a chance in the box but narrowly missed the post. Then, Matteo Prati forced Stefano Turati into a remarkable save with a low shot. Poor defending allowed Soule to score for Frosinone.

Soule, however, almost became the villain when he handled the ball in his own area, but Marco Mancosu's penalty hit the bar, and Jakub Jankto missed the rebound. Soule extended Frosinone's lead with an impressive run and finish. Mancosu hit the woodwork again with a powerful header.

Cagliari's troubles continued as Marco Brescianini exploited defensive lapses to add another goal. Despite creating chances, Cagliari struggled to breach Frosinone's solid defence. Gabriele Zappa came close with a looping header, but Ilario Monterisi cleared it off the line.

Cagliari finally scored when Gaetano Oristanio netted a beautiful curling shot. The game opened up, and Antoine Makoumbou cut the deficit further with his first goal. Frosinone almost conceded a penalty when Turati appeared to bring down Oristanio, but VAR intervened.

In a thrilling finish, Frosinone squandered their three-goal lead in stoppage time. Leonardo Pavoletti scored with a free header, and then, with the last kick of the game, he secured the win for Cagliari at the back post. Claudio Ranieri claimed his first win of the season in a dramatic fashion.
