Calm down, Jamie, you’re no expert

The former Liverpool player takes too many liberties commenting on matches, despite having no real basis for it
TV pundit and Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has raised alarms following the Reds’ 4-2 season-opening win over Bournemouth, pointing to a structural flaw in Arne Slot’s side that could derail their title ambitions.
Liverpool looked comfortable early, racing to a 2-0 lead thanks to Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo. But the defense quickly fell apart. Antoine Semenyo capitalized on massive gaps in transition to score twice in the 63rd and 75th minutes, putting Liverpool under serious pressure. Only late strikes from Federico Chiesa (88th) and Mo Salah in stoppage time secured all three points.
Carragher, commenting live on Sky Sports, was blunt: "How many Liverpool players were in front of the ball when the score was 2-1? Eight? That's absolutely shocking at this level."

He added: "Semenyo runs half the pitch, no one stops him – and Konate looks very weak. It was a really, really bad night for him." The former defender stressed that the problem goes beyond individual errors: "Many say Liverpool needs a new center-back—but that doesn't solve anything. Then someone else will play instead of Konate. The problem is the team structure."
With two attack-minded full-backs and a non-defensive number ten, Liverpool is left exposed when transitioning backward.
Jamie Carragher is completely insufferable as a pundit and commentator.

Carragher concluded with a stark warning: “If Liverpool continues like this, they won’t become champions.”
