The midfielder on loan from Philadelphia Union now has three goals in six league matches played

The star seemingly can’t stop shining on Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada.

Just a week after admitting that he was in the mood for more goals, Friday night’s game at the multi-purpose Hjørring Stadium couldn’t have gotten any better, as he was at hand - yet again - to rifle a shot at the back-post for Aalborg’s second goal in a 3-1 win over local rivals Vendsyssel FF.

The goal, one engineered from a Lucas Andersen pass in the 56th minute, meant that the Kenyan had broken his two-match goalless run, and gone on to score his third league goal for the club in just six games played.

Following a 3-2 cup victory over Fredericia over the week, Aalborg found themselves trailing and in need of a comeback early on on Friday as Carl Lange gave the hosts an early lead after nine minutes.

The Danish 1st Division leaders however drew level a minute before the break when Oliver Ross directed Melker Widell's hard cross from the backline and into the net for a half-time score of 1-1.

After two decent opportunities in the first half - a blocked shot from a corner and a 26th minute attempt that went wide - Odada gave the visitors their first lead of the game, before second half substitute Emmanuel Toku tucked in his penalty and the team’s third after Vendsyssel FF defender Ayo Simon Okosun handled the ball.

The comeback win was the club’s eighth win of the season and extended their lead on top of the second tier league to six points.

After 11 games, Aalborg are on 27 points, with Sonderjyske, who play on Saturday, second with 21 points.

Since his switch to AaB on loan from MLS club Philadelphia Union on August 15, Odada has, in addition to the six games in the NordicBet League, also been in action for the national team, where he featured against Qatar and South Sudan in the recent FIFA week.
