The Addicks issued their end-of-season squad update following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign, confirming that Sichenje is among the players retained ahead of the upcoming season.
The towering Harambee Stars defender joined Charlton during the January transfer window from FK Vojvodina and quickly showed glimpses of his potential at the heart of the defence before injuries disrupted his progress.
Sichenje’s spell at The Valley began promisingly after he made his debut against Southampton on Saturday, 21 February, featuring for 89 minutes in an impressive outing.
He then made another appearance against West Bromwich Albion, coming on as a substitute for Lloyd Jones.
However, his momentum was halted days later during Charlton’s clash against Wrexham AFC on Saturday, 28 February, when he suffered a hamstring injury and was stretchered off in the first half.
The setbacks forced the former AIK Fotboll and AFC Leopards defender to spend several weeks on the sidelines, missing eight matches as he underwent rehabilitation.
After a lengthy recovery process, Sichenje returned to action on Saturday, 18 April, making a second-half appearance against Sheffield Wednesday.
Unfortunately, his comeback was short-lived. Just a week later, the defender suffered another hamstring setback during a league encounter, forcing him off after only 28 minutes in what proved to be another frustrating blow in his debut season.

Despite his absence, Nathan Jones’ side managed to defeat Hull City 2-1 before falling 3-1 to Swansea City in their final fixture.
