Los Colchoneros clicnched an important away victory (2-1) at Granada and stay at the top of the La Liga
Not even Cholo is all-mighty, you must have thought. Well, you are wrong! Diego Simeone's slot clinched an important away victory at Granada in the Spanish La Liga Matchday 23. Without almost a half a dozen important players due to a coronavirus - Herrera, Lemar, Joao Felix and Dembele - Los Colchoneros struggled to get in front. After a harsh game in the first half, with not much of the action in the boxes, Simeone's guys scored an opener after 63rd minute.
However, Granada were not impressed with the table-toppers performance and celebrated an equaliser just a couple of minutes later, after some poor defending of the away team. Yangel Herrera showed some skill and Oblak wasn't even near.
And just when it seemed that the coronavirus is taking its toll at Atletico, resulting in a draw, Marcus Llorente assisted Angel Correa, his shoot hit some of the home players, the ball changed the direction and went straight into the net, at a far post. This goal proved to be enough for Atletico's win, who remain the Spanish finest superpower way ahead of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
