City's flop no one talks about: He earns as much as Semenyo, clocked 7 minutes this season, and Wolves want him

Remember Kalvin Phillips? Well, Manchester City could (temporarily) get rid of him and send him to the worst Premier League side

Three and a half years ago, he joined Man City from Leeds United as one of the greatest prospects in England for €49 million. Yet, despite the vast expectations, he turned out to be arguably the biggest flop in Pep Guardiola's era at Etihad Stadium.

Yes, we're talking about Kalvin Phillips, whom the Cityzens are trying to get rid of again.

Throughout his spell in Manchester, the midfielder spent a season and a half on loan at West Ham and Ipswich Town, but neither stint brought any significant improvement in his career nor enhanced his status in Guardiola's eyes.

Even though the Spaniard opted to keep him for the current campaign, his playing time hit rock bottom, as he clocked just seven minutes this season against Huddersfield in the EFL Cup.

However, paradoxically, Phillips earns around £150,000 per week - as much as Antoine Semenyo, who recently joined the Cityzens from Bournemouth to be a valuable asset in their title race with Arsenal.

Given the situation, it's no wonder the Manchester side is considering getting rid of him, at least temporarily.

Reportedly, the worst Premier League team at the moment, Wolverhampton Wanderers, are keen on bringing the Englishman on loan, though they want to be convinced that his fitness is at the required level after practically not playing for months.

Man City face the third-tier side, Exeter City, in the third round of the FA Cup today (18.00), and Phillips may get some minutes against the minnows, but it won't change a thing regarding his situation at Etihad.
