Striker open to new offers after parting ways with league debutants Bidco United
Harambee Stars striker Piston Mutamba has been rendered a free agent after formally cutting ties with Bidco United. The towering forward has parted ways with the Thika based club on mutual agreement, a month before the expiry of his contract.
Bidco ordered the former Sofapaka goal poacher to return to the the country two weeks ago after failing to complete his move to Libya’s Asswehly SC. The league debutants declined to let the former National U23, Emerging Stars player join the Libyan club after he allegedly forged his release letter. The transfer is also understood to have flopped owing to Bidco’s financial demands to chalk Mutamba off their books. The former Wazito man says he is hunting for a new home locally and abroad.
“Bidco told me to come back and finish my contract but have opted to terminate it and return their kits. They are supposed to issue me with my release letter after my lawyer signs a certain confidential document. I am looking for a new club either local or beyond the borders. I cannot sign in Libya as their transfer window is closed,” he said
Mutamba joined Bidco United before the start of the season after being deemed surplus to requirement at Wazito in July last year. The Kakamega High School old boy had netted a goal during his short stay at Bidco. The Anthony Akhulia coached club has been relying on Eric Gichimu for goals from the time Mutamba absconded duty in search for greener pastures in Libya
