Sofapaka have only won two of their last 10 games in the FKF Premier League

Having only secured a single win this year, Sofapaka defender Dan Guya has admitted that players are under pressure to deliver adding that consistency has been their major undoing.

Batoto ba Mungu have only secured two wins in their last 10 games and currently languish in 12th place on 24 points from 18 games thus far.

The former Bandari defender revealed that pressure has crept into the side following a string of poor results this year but is confident the side has the experience to shoulder it.

“Definitely, there is pressure on us as the playing unit to get the right results. We have expectations from our management, technical bench, supporters and everyone associated with the club.

The new year hasn’t been good for us, we have not had a good run of results and, with no doubt, it has piled some pressure on us, but I believe we have enough experience in the team to handle it all,” said Guya.

Sofapaka suffered a loss last time out to reigning league champions Tusker FC which was their sixth defeat of the season as again they fail to challenge on the top half of the table.

Guya added they have not meet their targets with consistency proving to be their Achilles heel and hoped that they can pull a string of positive results in the coming matches.

“As a playing unit, we have our targets and expectations as well, but we have not been able to achieve much. Our main undoing has been consistency. I hope as a team, once we get on good footing, we will get some good runs of results,” added Guya.
