
Dennis Ng'ang'a opens goal account in the Zambian Super League

Vincent Oburu missed Zesco's defeat to Nkwazi
Former Gor Mahia central defender Dennis Ng’ang’a opened his goal account in the Zambian Super League after finding the back of the net in Zanaco’s 2-0 win over Trident on Saturday.
Ng’ang’a, who joined the club last month found the back of the net in the second half to help Zanaco pick maximum points for the first time in the season that is three weeks old.
The left-footed defender struck home the ball in the 68th minute, beating former Sofapaka goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya who was guarding the Trident goal.
Zanaco had taken the lead in the 34th minute through Chawanangwa Kaonga. Defensive midfielder John Ochieng, who also joined Zanaco from Gor started the game from the bench.
While Ng’ang’a and Ochieng had something to celebrate about, their counterpart Ian Otieno was on the receiving end of defeat as Zesco United lost 1-0 to Nkwazi at the Edwin Imboela Stadium.
The Kenyan international was beaten in the 88th minute by Brian Masanyinga. Former Wazito winger Vincent Oburu who is attached to Zesco missed the duel.
David "Calabar" Owino
At the Woodlands Stadium, former Harambee Stars assistant captain David ‘Calabar’ Owino started from the substitutes bench as Napsa Stars played Kansashi Dynamos to a barren draw in.
While Calabar watched action from the bench, his compatriot Jesse Were started for Kansashi but couldn’t find the back of the net and enrich his impressive stats in the Zambian league.
Were, was replaced by Justine Kang’ombe in the 58th minute.
Brian Mandela
Meanwhile, Stars centre back Brian Mandela wasn’t picked up for duty in Mamelodi Sundowns’ 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs in the first leg of the MTN8 Cup semifinal clash played at the FNB Stadium.
According to Sundowns, Mandela couldn’t vie for playing time after he was taken ill in the course of the week.
Chiefs, appeared destined for a 1-0 win after taking the lead through Edson Castillo in the 61st minute.
However, Sundowns found the back of the net in the 90+3rd minute through Khuliso Mudau.
