Dilemma or no-brainer for Palace: Trip Arsenal up in title race or pocket £10 million?

The clause in a deal between the Eagles and the Gunners regarding Eberechi Eze's transfer put the Conference League finalists in a pretty peculiar situation

Eberechi Eze could bring Arsenal their first Premier League title in 22 years and turn out to be one of the Gunners' best deals of the last two decades, but not because of his direct contribution on the pitch.

The forward has had a significant impact on Arsenal's play with 7 goals and 2 assists in 31 EPL appearances and was a key figure in the Gunners' double over their North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

Still, Eze's crucial influence on the Champions League finalists' potential Premier League triumph may come off the pitch, as the deal between his former and current clubs may play the pivotal role.

The 27-year-old joined Arsenal last August for £60 million, but, as recently revealed, that contract includes a special add-on clause under which Palace would receive an additional £10 million if the Gunners win the league.

To make things even more interesting, the Eagles will be Mikel Arteta's team's ultimate obstacle in the title race, as the two London sides will meet on the final EPL matchday on May 24 (18.00) at Selhurst Park!

Therefore, a dilemma - or a no-brainer for some - lies ahead of Palace: go all out against Arsenal and leave money on the table or "take the foot off the gas" and become £10 million richer.

Given the circumstances and the fact that only three days after the clash against the Gunners, the Eagles play the most important European match in their history, the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano, it wouldn't be a surprise if their boss, Oliver Glasner, rotated his squad a little bit.

After all, with a European trophy and history on the line, few could blame him.
