While the Gunners were celebrating a triumph over Atletico Madrid in the UCL semi-finals, Porto announced that they triggered an option to buy the London side's loanee Jakub Kiwior
How has your week started? If you ask Arsenal, it doesn't get much better than this.
On Monday, Manchester City drew against Everton (3-3) and put the Gunners' destiny in the title race back in their hands. With three wins in as many remaining rounds, they'll win the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
Yesterday, Mikel Arteta's men brushed aside Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals, reaching their second-ever UCL final, first since 2006.
And while the Spaniard, his lads, and everyone around the North London side were celebrating a massive triumph over Los Colchoneros, more good news came for them, this time from Portugal.
Namely, Porto announced that they had triggered an option to buy Arsenal loanee Jakub Kiwior and keep him at Dragao Stadium, meaning that €17 million will flow into the Gunners' pockets.

At the same time - and including a €2 million loan fee - the EPL table toppers will almost fully recover the money they invested in the Pole when they brought him from Spezia for €19.5 million in January 2023. In fact, they could even make profit, as a €5 million add-on clause has been included in the deal.
Even though his stint at Emirates was subpar, Kiwior truly showed class at Porto and was one of the key players in the Dragons' title-winning campaign.
With him on the team, the Liga Portugal champions kept as many as 23 clean sheets, while the partnership he created with his compatriot Jan Bednarek has been exceptional.
Hence, it's no wonder that Kiwior signed a four-year deal with Porto, with a release clause worth €70 million!
Hardly anyone would pay that amount, but the Dragons want to be safe.
