Ivorian striker David Datro Fofana, 20, will be loaned to Union Berlin after making only three appearances for the Blues since arriving in January

Time is on his side, for sure, but that time hasn't come yet. And that's why Chelsea's January long-term signing David Datro Fofana has decided to go on a season-long loan to the Bundesliga side Union Berlin.

The 20-year-old will try his luck in the German capital until June 2024, and the fact Union will be playing Champions League football makes this move even more logical. He made just three Premier League appearances for the Blues since arriving from the Swedish Molde. The striker - occasionally dubbed as the 'improved version of Drogba' - signed a deal at Chelsea until 2029 with an option to extend for a further year.

According to The Athletic, there will be no option-to-buy agreement in the deal with Union Berlin, which means the Stamford Bridge outfit is eager to provide him with another chance in the near future.
