Ebenyo signed a year-long deal with Elite, who are restructuring after parting ways with a majority of their players from the previous NSL season.

National Super League side Mombasa Elite have strengthened their goalkeeping department by acquiring Richard Ebenyo Bacha from Division One Zone A club Malindi Progressive Football Academy.

Ebenyo signed a year-long deal with Elite, who are restructuring after parting ways with a majority of their players from the previous NSL season.

The Mombasa-based club beat other second-tier sides in Kibera Black Stars, SS Assad, and Mwatate United to the services of the highly-rated custodian, who has demonstrated his quality across several seasons both in the NSL and Division One.

Bacha, who has previously featured for Mathare United in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, in an interview with Mozzart Sport, said he was elicited to make a return to the second tier stage and intends to use his experience to propel Elites to FKF Premier League.

"I have finalized talks with Elites and I will be joining them after I was impressed with the plans they have for the new season. There were approaches from other clubs, but Elites presents a good platform for me. I hope to impress and benefit from foreign scouting the club enjoys," offered Bacha.

The experienced National Super League net minder also noted that he intends to keep the most clean sheets in the league he is familiar with having previously turned out for Silibwet Leons, the now defunct Eldoret Youth, Kisumu Hot Stars, and top-tier sides Murang'a Seal and Shabana FC.

"I hope to give my best and be the best goalkeeper in the league since I won't need to adapt, I am a veteran here. At the end of the season I hope to secure a deal to the top-flight football," he added.

Bacha 24 further eluded confidence he will help the Patrick Nyale-coached outfit attain promotion at the end of the season.

"My target is getting a promotion with the team as they have overstayed in the second tier," he noted.

Elite have revamped their playing unit ahead of the new season by bringing in twenty-one arsenals tasked with putting a significant promotion chance.
