The coach is expected in the country next month as the team prepares to play three international friendly matches in Nairobi

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is tying up agreements to play the three matches during the world football governing body FIFA window that opens in March.

According to a source in the federation, they want the team to come back with a bang.

“The team has not played for a long time and we understand that many fans are hungry to see them play. That is why we are planning three international matches. Negotiations are on-going with several federations and in the next one week we should tie up the agreements,” said the source.

The source further added that Firat had agreed to return and finish off what he had started with the team.

“He is a top coach and we feel that he needs a lot of time with the team before we can see his potential. In the few matches that he was in charge, he did a good job.”

Harambee Stars are out of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after the country was suspended by FIFA last year over government interference.
