The Premier League Hall of Fame will soon get two new members, though the choice won't be easy, as 15 true icons of England's top flight are in the mix
Last season, Andy and Ashley Cole, and John Terry became the latest members of the Premier League Hall of Fame - the group of EPL icons that includes 22 players and two managers. Soon, the first number will increase by two, as the new 15 nominees for the 2025 generation have been unveiled.
Interestingly, there are six Man United icons: Nemanja Vidic, Edwin van der Sar (the only keeper in the mix), Patrice Evra, Gary Neville, Teddy Sheringham, and Michael Carrick. Furthermore, there's an ex-Red Devil and former Liverpool net-buster, Michael Owen, Man City's duo of Yaya Toure and David Silva, and Arsenal's Sol Campbell and Cesc Fabregas. Finally, Les Ferdinand, Eden Hazard, Robbie Fowler, and Jermain Defoe are the last four candidates.

Just like in the previous generation, only two new names will be included in the EPL HoF, though the initial choices brought significantly more selected ones.
Namely, when the Hall of Fame was established in 2021, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Dennis Bergkamp, Steven Gerrard, and David Beckham all became members at once.
The year later, Wayne Rooney, Patrick Vieira, Sergio Aguero, Didier Drogba, Vincent Kompany, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes, and Ian Wright were included, while the generation 2023 consisted of only three names - Tony Adams, Petr Cech, and Rio Ferdinand.
So far, the only two managers who became Hall of Famers were Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.
The two new HoF members of the 2025 generation will be chosen by people's votes on the Premier League's official website. Voting is open until September 15.
