The victim was reportedly left with "blood leaking from the bridge of his nose"
For the past several days, the public in England has been fascinated with a scandal that happened on Saturday night, when a famous 29-year-old footballer was arrested for an assault.
Bandying names about started almost immediately, with Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz - whose age fitted the mentioned profile - being the most likely "culprit," as he surprisingly missed the Eagles' Sunday clash against Fulham.
However, it wasn't the Colombian. It wasn't even a Premier League player, but an ex-EPL star and the current Al-Ahli Saudi striker, Ivan Toney!
As The Sun reported, the incident occurred in a high-end London bar when a man suddenly grabbed the player, attempting to take a selfie with him. Afraid that he might be robbed, Toney reacted hastily and headbutted the poor lad.
"He walked past a table of a group of lads. One of them recognised him and said, 'Oh, it's Ivan Toney' and tried to put his hands around his neck to get a photo with him. And then Toney has said, 'Get off me, get off me' and ended up headbutting one of the guys," a witness told The Sun, before adding that the victim was left with "blood leaking from the bridge of his nose."

"He's a superstar — he gets half a million a week in Saudi Arabia. He had his jewellery on and he had a real nice watch. "He might have thought they were trying to attack him to take his chain or watch off him," the witness concluded his story.
The police reportedly arrived within half an hour, approached Toney, handcuffed him, and took him out of the bar.
Still, the ex-Brentford striker was shortly released on bail and has already returned to Saudi Arabia, as his club, Al-Ahli, posted photos of him in a training session last night.

Toney joined the club from Jeddah in August 2024 for £40 million, though he may be close to returning to his homeland. Namely, he is allegedly keen on getting back to the England national team and making the 2026 FIFA World Cup cut, so he's willing to accept a significant salary reduction to return to the Premier League and try "charming" Thomas Tuchel.
The latest rumours linked him to Tottenham and West Ham.
