Omala will terminate his contract with FC Linkoping City
Kenya U20 striker Benson Omala is set to terminate his loan agreement with Swedish club, FC Linkoping City over frustrations and unfulfilled promises.
Omala had signed a six-month loan deal with the club, a contract which would see him play in Sweden until December 2021 as the Swedish side pledged to rope him in permanently should he impress during the temporary stay.
He then travelled to Sweden on 7th May to link up with the third-tier side. Two days after landing in Sweden he made his debut against Qviding FIF coming on as a second-half sub as they went down 3-1.

Things have however not been rosy for the Gor Mahia attacker in Sweden and Mozzart Sport can authoritatively report that he is set to terminate his contract with the club in the next few days.
According to a source in Sweden, the player is irked by the fact that he is not playing in his natural position as a striker. He has been fielded as a right-back, and midfielder and adjusting to the demands of these new positions has been difficult.
“Omala is frustrated and he is leaving the club soon. There are things that were agreed on before he left for Sweden which have not been fulfilled by the club and he has decided to leave and return to Gor Mahia. For example, he is a striker but he has not been given a chance to showcase what he can do upfront. There are other issues which the club has not shown a willingness to address and things cannot continue this way,” a source from Sweden told Mozzart Sport.

After impressing with Kisumu-based Western Stima last season, Omala was roped in by Gor Mahia, penning a five-year deal with the club. He did not play much for Gor Mahia owing to school commitments and a few months later, Gor and the Swedish club struck a deal that saw him move to Sweden temporarily.
Upon his return, the attacker will have to wait until the next transfer window before he is re-registered as a Gor player once again.
He is a full Kenya U20 international and has featured in two Cecafa U20 Championship.
