The legendary Spaniard was honored with a special evening attended by former players, global sports stars, and many others
He failed to win the title this year, but he still leaves as a true champion and, without question, the greatest manager in the club’s history. Manchester City organized a farewell party for Pep Guardiola at the Etihad last night, preparing several surprises for the legendary Spaniard.

One of Guardiola’s favorite bands, Mishima, performed on stage, while a number of former City players carried out, one by one, the trophies Pep won during his decade-long spell at the club. Among those present were Fernandinho, Ederson, Ilkay Gundogan and current Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany. Naturally, several current players also posed with the silverware, including Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Nico Gonzalez.
There was no shortage of emotion throughout the evening, especially when the hosts read out a special message from Michael Jordan. “Pep, I want to congratulate you on an incredible career. Enjoy retirement and good luck with golf,” said the basketball legend in a video message.
