Felix no longer playing for 'pocket money' - ten times the salary coming up

Joao Felix made a big financial sacrifice to fulfill his boyhood dream by signing for Barcelona on the last day of the transfer window. And that will pay off for him many times over, because - according to Radio Catalunya - he is expecting a significant raise.

At the time, many people wondered how Barcelona, considering its financial situation, could bring in footballers with substantial incomes, but then the Spanish media disclosed, and the club confirmed the accuracy of the information that Felix will receive 400,000 euros a year at Barca.

According to the same source, it was a strategy of the club and the player that would allow the arrival of the Portuguese from Atlético Madrid, but even then the two parties agreed to modify his salary when the situation allows it. Thus, according to the aforementioned source, Felix's salary will increase tenfold, from 400,000 to 4,000,000 euros gross, which is still far from the income he had at the Metropolitano (14,500,000).

The increase, however, will not affect Financial Fair Play, as Radio Catalunya points out that La Liga has already factored in the mentioned figure for Felix's salary, as the Players' Association gives a minimum assessment regardless of the specific agreement between the club and the player.

Felix played eight games for Barcelona in all competitions with three goals and the same number of assists.
