Leopards will incur Ksh6 million while K'Ogalo will lose Ksh4 million.
Football Kenya Federation has slapped a ten million fine on AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia for boycotting a league match scheduled for television screening last weekend.
The clubs have also been docked three points each with their chairmen Dan Shikanda of AFC Leopards and Ambrose Rachier of Gor Mahia provisionally suspended.
AFC Leopards, being the home team will incur Ksh6 million while K'Ogalo will pay Ksh4 million. FKF president Nicholas Kithuku Mwendwa said broadcast sponsors incurred a huge cost as result of the botched match and therefore the clubs must be held to account.
"These people threatened us and gave us a timeline within which to pay them. What will the other teams do after this? They did not tell us they had a problem, instead they went to Toyoyo to play a friendly match when we had cameras in Thika for a league match" said Kithuku
Shikanda and Rachier are provisionally suspended for putting the game into disrepute by threatening to boycott the game by way of writing a letter then following through on their threats.
The two club chairmen have been given two weeks within which they can lodge an appeal and a disciplinary hearing commenced. Meanwhile they are required to take leave from all football related activities until the disciplinary process concludes.
With four rounds of league games left before the FKF Premier League concludes, Kithuku has dared the two clubs to miss the rest and attract more sanctions.
"The money they were agitating for are not in anyway related with the league match they boycotted. The money they wanted was for the FKF Cup, sponsored by a separate entity while the league match they boycotted had been organized by television broadcasters. Other clubs have had problems with finances but they had conversations with them and came to amicable solutions. These clubs did not act lawfully,"
I called the chairman of AFC Leopards and told him I hope he knows the consequences of boycotting a league game. What if they dont honor the rest? We will will follow the law. I will not hesitate. But we cannot allow the game to descend into such disorganization," an agitated Kithuku charged
Owing to the suspension of Shikanda and Rachier, Kithuku said FKF will henceforth deal with the next in line for both clubs. We have looked at both of their constitutions and we will deal with AFC Leopards Secretary General and for Gor Mahia we will deal with the vice chairman. These two clubs but we can nolonger deal with individuals who bring the game into disrepute. All clubs are same and we must deal with them the same way. We don't have money yet the little we have is messed with by these clubs. We cannot allow that," Kithuku concluded
