The Bankers climbed to fourth on the log, with Homeboyz now 12th after their second loss in four games
KCB returned back to winning ways on Wednesday 27 September afternoon as they emerged 2-0 winners over hosts Kakamega Homeboyz in a rescheduled mid-week FKF Premier League matchup staged at the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega,
After enduring a rough last two weeks - with a loss and a draw to Kariobangi Sharks and Bandari FC respectively - it was the Bankers that got themselves to a quick start as they took the lead through Haniff Wesonga in the sixth minute of the game.

The defender was among the two changes made to the Bernard Mwalala side, with his knock sustained in the loss to Kariobangi Sharks two weeks ago keeping him out of last weekend’s clash.
The other significant change was a first start for returning striker Derrick Otanga.
Bar a decent attempt from the game’s Most Valuable Player Musa Masika to extend his team’s lead shortly inside the 27th minute, a pair of opportunities by Hillary Otieno late in the half were clearly rebuffed by goalkeeper Bryne Omondi and Nashon Alembi, seeing the scores remain 1-0 at halftime.

A couple of changes over the break saw the duo of Stephen Opoku and Shami Mwinyi replace Alex Imbusia and John Otieno, with Moses Shummah and Oscar Paul coming on for David Kasirye and Hillary Otieno nine minutes later.
It was from the boot of Paul that Homeboyz attempted a comeback, only for his shot to fall wide, with Mwinyi forcing Alembi to another block in the 68th minute.
KCB however got their second in the 79th minute as substitute Francis Kahiro lobbed Homeboyz keeper Farouk Shikhalo from a 1v1 situation, to get his second goal of the season, making it 2-0.
There was ultimately no reprieve for Patrick Odhiambo’s side as they fell to their second defeat of the season, and are now 12th on the log with four points from the opening four games.
KCB on the other hand pushed themselves to fourth on seven points, and only three points behind the early leaders Posta Rangers.
