Reigning Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Kenya Police extended their winless streak to six matches after being held 1-1 at Police Sacco by Nairobi United.
The first match in charge for coach Nicholas Muyoti came against his immediate former employers on Monday 19 January.
The Round 17 clash produced all its action in the second half.
Nairobi United initially drew first blood through a cruel twist of fate, when Jacques Ndecke inadvertently headed into his own net under pressure from Ovella Ochieng’s pinpoint low cross.
The opener silenced the home crowd and seemed to put the Naibois on course for an upset.

However, Police rallied late in the 82nd minute. Yves Kotiama restored parity with a clinical finish from a well-placed cross by substitute Edward Omondi, following a composed buildup orchestrated by David Simiyu.
Despite intense pressure in the closing minutes, the law enforcers were unable to find a winner, leaving both sides to share the spoils.
The first half was largely cagey, with midfield battles dominating proceedings.
United’s best opportunity came in the 30th minute when Shami Mwinyi Kibwana’s thunderous free kick rattled the crossbar, narrowly denying the visitors an early lead.
Police were forced into an early substitution just before halftime, with Ally Awesu replaced by Eric Zakayo due to injury, but the teams entered the break deadlocked.
In the second half, the match settled into a scrappy rhythm.
Police looked to assert control, while Nairobi United remained dangerous on the counter.
The own goal gave the visitors a brief advantage, but Kotiama’s composed strike ensured that Muyoti’s debut ended without defeat, though perhaps not with the satisfaction he had hoped for.

The draw marks Kenya Police’s fourth consecutive stalemate, leaving them fifth on 25 points, while Nairobi United climb to seventh with 24 points, moving up a spot in the standings.
Muyoti’s side will now look to break their recent run of draws as they seek to defend their title.
