Kenya Police shot noisy Murang'a Seal to move to seventh on the log

Benson Omala’s goal deep into second half added time was enough for Gor Mahia to emerge 2-1 winners over Kariobangi Sharks in a Sunday afternoon clash at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

The win, their seventh this season, extended K'Ogalo’s unbeaten start after 13 games, but also propelled them to the top of the FKF Premier League standings above weekend leaders Posta Rangers with 27 points.

Posta, who succumbed to their second loss of the season Saturday against Nairobi City Stars, are second with 25 points, just one ahead of third placed Kakamega Homeboyz, other winners from Sunday.

After a sticky start to the game, both sides looked to be heading to the halftime break deadlocked at 0-0 before midfielder Alpha Onyango rifled in a right footed shot to the bottom left corner after feeding from a Sharks rebound.

The visitors would however get themselves level through Ghai Panchol in the 82nd minute, leading up to Omala’s moment with the game winner.

The goal was his tenth this season, one that keeps him atop the goalscoring charts.

Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 Bidco United

At the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz made it four league wins on the bounce as they secured a 1-0 win over Bidco United.

Christopher Masinza’s goal after 10 minutes was all the difference for Patrick Odhiambo’s side, as they leaped to third position on the standings with 24 points from their seven wins this season.

Kenya Police 2-0 Murang’a Seal

Clinton Kinanga and David Simiyu's goals saw Kenya Police register a 2-0 win over Murang’a Seal in a league match played at the Police Sacco Ground in Nairobi.

The halftime substitute won and converted a penalty after 54 minutes before Simiyu finished off a lovely team move in the 82nd minute to push his side to a run of three consecutive victories, and seventh position on the log with 20 points - one below their day’s opponents.

Nzoia Sugar 1-3 Sofapaka

Elsewhere at the Sudi Stadium, Sofapaka moved from the bottom of the league and completely out of the relegation places after registering a big 3-1 victory over Nzoia Sugar.

Having been winless in their last four games, Sofapaka drew first blood inside 19 minutes courtesy of Darius Msagha, only for Nzoia to restore parity with an Emmanuel Osoro goal at the hour mark.

Sofapaka then retook their lead two minutes later through Fiston Razak, who rounded off the team’s third win of the season with a third five minutes from full time.

Ezekiel Akwana’s men are now 15th on the log with Nzoia, who have lost their last three, are 17th with nine points.

Bandari 1-0 Muhoroni Youth

Hassan Abdallah’s 43rd minute penalty saw Bandari win their seventh game of the season following a 1-0 win over Muhoroni Youth at the Mbaraki Sports Grounds.

The win took John Baraza’s side to fifth on the league table, but was a devastating result for the visitors, who dropped to the bottom with just one win in 13 games.

Their defeat Sunday was their fifth in a row, extending their winless run to seven games.
