Zinedine Zidane's time in Madrid slowly runs out

In the previous days, information appeared in the media that Raul Gonzalez Blanco, the current coach of Castile, Real Madrid's feeding side, could succeed Adolf Hutter in Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season. The legendary Spanish footballer is mentioned in public as the first option for the position that will remain vacant after the current strategist leaves the team and moves to Monchengladbach. But the potential offer for the former Madrid star could bring a big dilemma. He is marked at the club as the coach who should succeed Zinedine Zidane, reveals Spanish newspaper AS.

Although he has not yet tried his hand as a club coach on a professional level, Raul found himself on the radar of several teams from the Old Continent, and especially Bundesliga. The former attacker left a noticeable trace in the Schalke jersey. He won the German Cup and Super Cup, and the club achieved a notable result in that period in the Champions League by reaching the semifinals.

Successes with the youth team of Real and then with Castile confirmed that Raul could achieve his accomplishments as a player in the coaching position. The Spaniard managed to win the playoffs with the Madrid B last season, and he pulled off the same success in the current season and has the opportunity to win promotion in Segunda B. With excellent results, the promising strategist managed to introduce many Real pearls into the senior squad, such as Blanka, Arribas and Gelabert, thus creating a coaching identity as a tactician who prefers a solid and offensive game through a 4-3-3 formation.

The experience with Zidane is the reason why Real Madrid's president Florentino Perez is determined to look for the next coach in his own yard when the time comes. From the management's perspective, the option to give Raul a chance is far better than bringing in another coach.

For this reason, Raul is currently the first candidate to succeed Zidane in the event of a breakup between the French and Madrid. The process could be accelerated by Juventus' interest in Real's coach well as possible failures. A part of Madrid's fans is already quite dissatisfied after elimination in the UCL semifinals from Chelsea. A draw against Sevilla (2-2) in La Liga dethroned them domestically, so Zidane's time slowly runs out.
