Patrick Vieira is close to joining Serie A strugglers Genoa
He had a decent managerial Premier League stint at Selhurst Park and two quite unsuccessful spells in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg and Nice. Now it's time for the Serie A challenge.
Former Arsenal captain and star Patrick Vieira is close to joining Italian side Genoa.
However, it's not rainbows and butterflies for Genoa, as they sit only a point above the relegation zone after a poor start to the campaign that has seen the club win twice, draw four times, and lose their remaining six games.
Vieira has been jobless since getting sacked at Strasbourg a few months ago. Now, it remains to be seen if Vieira's move to Genoa will be completed in time for their next Serie A fixture against another Serie A struggler, Cagliari.
