Speaking exclusively to Mozzart Sport, the 32-year-old midfielder, who has graced several top-flight and second-tier Kenyan clubs, explained that stepping away from the pitch was not an abrupt choice but a carefully considered move to secure his future beyond the game.

“I had lived it, loved it, and enjoyed it,” Kuta reflected. “After years of balancing football and business, I felt the need to focus fully on my next chapter. Age was also catching up, and it was the right time to prioritise my long-term goals.”

Kuta has for years been running Kuta Collection, a sportswear brand that has steadily grown within Kenyan football circles, serving a large number of players and teams.

With competitive football behind him, the former Western Stima and Nairobi City Stars man now intends to dedicate his energy to building the enterprise into a leading sports apparel empire.

“One of the main reasons I stopped playing was to give undivided attention to my business. Managing it alongside football was always a challenge, but now I want to take it to the next level,” he said.

Beyond business, Kuta has his eyes set on a return to the classroom. A graduate of Moi University, he revealed plans to study for the FIFA football agent course, which will allow him to remain actively involved in the sport in a new capacity.

“I have always admired the player transfer side of the game. Pursuing the agent course will allow me to guide and represent players, ensuring I remain connected to the sport I love, but from a different angle,” he added.

Kuta’s football journey is a story of resilience. He first made his mark at Moi University before stepping into the professional scene with Vihiga All Stars between 2013 and 2015.

In 2017, he joined Kisumu-based Palos FC before moving to Nairobi Stima, where he became a reliable figure in the National Super League (NSL).

The 2018–2019 season marked his breakthrough into the FKF Premier League when he signed for Western Stima, a stint that lasted three seasons before the club’s dissolution by its sponsors.

Kuta later featured for Kibera Black Stars in the NSL before making a top-flight return with Nairobi City Stars.

His career also saw him don the colours of Mathare United before sealing a move to FC Talanta in March 2023, where he played until mid-season of the 2024/25 FKF-PL campaign when his contract came to an end.
