The custodian left Seal two months ago
Former Murang’a Seal goalkeeper Christian Mutiso is hoping that is long search for a new club will end this week by putting pen to paper with one of the National Super League clubs.
The custodian has been club-less since leaving Seal two months ago following the expiry of his year-long deal contract with the club.
He was among the seven players who left Seal after the conclusion of the 2022-23 season where the club attained automatic promotion to the tier, finishing second behind Shabana.
Mutiso, trained with Mathare United for two days after leaving Seal before playing for Kajiado FC in the second edition of the Elite Pre-season Cup.
He later moved to the Shabana camp but, couldn’t compete for a place after suffering a hip injury during the trials.
The goalkeeper believes that he will impress the Darajani Gogo technical bench this week where he is scheduled to try his luck.
The player has also been linked with a move to MCF who are rebuilding after losing scores of players at the end of the past season.
With the transfer window set to close on September 15, Mutiso exuded confidence in securing a team this week even as the Super League start dates draw closer.
“This is a crucial week for me as I hope to sign a deal with one of the second-tier clubs. I need to settle down and direct my focus towards the season and achieving the plan I have,” he told Mozzart Sport.
Meanwhile, the former Wote Dreams FC shot stopper expressed delight after recovering on time.
He lamented that the hip injury barred him from passing trials at Shabana who were in search of a goalkeeper before the top-flight season kicked off.
“I am fully fit again after three weeks on the sidelines. I fell awkwardly in my first day at Shabana and couldn’t proceed with the trials. I checked with two physiotherapist who all gave me the green light to resume training,” he added.
