Brentford is a club of principles that never let them down

Thomas Frank's tenure at Brentford showcases an impressive record, elevating the club from 18th in the Championship to a stable top-flight team in the Premier League. Despite receiving offers from other clubs, Frank remains committed to Brentford, focusing on the continual improvement and achievements he desires with the club.

Acknowledging the club's unique culture and smart transfer strategy, Frank emphasizes the importance of alignment among key figures, a strong club culture, effective recruitment, and a 'no di*kheads' policy, fostering a healthy environment both on and off the pitch. He revealed his plans for Brentford's progress for The Standard, claiming that everyone joining the club must be decent.

"The 'no d***heads' policy is a big thing. You can see we are a team and staff that care for each other. We've got what I would call a 'nice' performance environment where we go to work, and it's enjoyable, but on the pitch it's life or death. That means the world."

While celebrating Brentford's successes, Frank admits that the Premier League's elite clubs hold a significant advantage due to their financial supremacy. He recognizes the difficulty in competing with the so-called 'top-six' and expanding into the European qualification spots but remains optimistic - because "top six" clubs don't always finish in the top six. Despite the financial differences, the Danish tactician believes Brentford's efficient approach and cohesive team spirit allow them to compete despite budget limitations. He acknowledges the club's status as a 'selling club' but hopes to retain key players like Ivan Toney.

"Everyone saw how Ivan played last year. It's not like he broke a leg or did his ACL, so he's fit and probably even more ambitious to get success. I'm convinced he will be absolutely on it. I don't want to lose him. I hope, and think, he'll be a Brentford player on 1 February."

Frank's vision for Brentford revolves around smart recruitment, nurturing the club's unique culture, and competing effectively against more financially dominant opponents in the Premier League, all while aiming to achieve continued success and growth for the club.
