Ninety delegates representing FKF County branches, FKF Premier League clubs, the National Super League (NSL), the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL), and the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KeFWA) cast their votes to elect a team to lead Kenyan football for the next four years
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections have ushered in a new chapter in Kenyan football as Hussein Mohammed and MacDonald Mariga's coalition swept most of the FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) seats.
Ninety delegates representing FKF County branches, FKF Premier League clubs, the National Super League (NSL), the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL), and the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KeFWA) cast their votes to elect a team to lead Kenyan football for the next four years.
Among the notable winners, AFC Leopards Chairman Dan Shikanda and Murang’a Seal Chairman Robert Macharia are two of the eight NEC members entrusted with shaping the future of the sport.
In the Coast Region, Gabriel Mghendi emerged victorious with 32 votes, outpacing Edward Oduor, Ericsson Kyongo, and Athman Mwamiri.
In Central, Robert Macharia secured the seat with 54 votes, defeating Gordon Davies, who received 35 votes, while one vote was declared invalid.
Charles Njagi, the National Super League side 3K FC chairman, triumphed in the Eastern Region, garnering 40 votes. His closest rival, Joseph Mutwiri, received 29 votes, followed by Elzaphan Mbogo with 21 votes.
The Lower Rift Valley seat saw a closely contested race, with Peter Kamau narrowly edging out David Kipkorir, 47 votes to 42.
For the North Eastern Region, Mohammed Abba won decisively, securing 63 votes against Abdulah Salat's 27.
In Nairobi, Dan Shikanda narrowly clinched victory with 25 votes, surpassing Michael Ouma (23 votes) and Isaac Macharia (22 votes). James Masese finished fourth with 16 votes.
Collins Kalee continued Team Fresh’s dominance in the Nyanza Region, winning the seat with 24 votes. George Ooria came second with 20 votes, while Stephen Ochiel finished third with 18.
Caleb Amwayi took the Western Region seat with 43 votes, defeating Kevin Mwangu (26 votes) and Nick Yakhama (21 votes).
In the Upper Rift, Bernard Korir emerged as the new NEC member, receiving 48 votes. Evans Rono (35 votes) and Solomon Tanui (4 votes) trailed behind.
The Women's Representative race marked a significant change as Violet Kerubo ended Margaret Anyango’s tenure by securing 46 votes.
Anyango managed 17 votes, while Marquette Atieno received 14 votes. Charity Wangoma and Moureen Ochiengo garnered nine and four votes, respectively.
