Even though things are getting serious, there is always room to turn frowns to laughter

The situation is complicating - European Super League is getting closer to realization, the existing Champions League has officially went through a reform. Everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting for more information regarding the new competition and how it may change the course of European football.

Many social media profiles took the tense atmosphere as inspiration for humorous tweets, posts and analysis.

An interesting view of the Premier League table - if all the "big clubs" left to join the European Super league, the standings would be more than interesting for the "alternative" supporters.

Lately, Arsenal are failing to bring themselves back into the crème-de-la-crème of European football, and there has been memes galore regarding their results in the recent past. The Emirates club are, as expected, alongside with their fierce rivals, Tottenham, being made fun off the most.

Another big question for the social platforms comedians is which club is eligible for the European Super League if trophies are taken into consideration. Emphasis is clearly on the financial aspect of the clubs and their participation - not if they deserved to be the part of the new format with their results and accolades.

Official website of Real Betis showed an interesting view of the La Liga table without the big trio of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

And of course the biggest joke, that actually is not a joke is the statement of Florentino Perez that a new World Cup will be created if the European Super league limitations cause for many of the international teams to withdraw from the Qatar tournament.

We will just have to wait and see how things will develop. Until official statements are given, all that can be done is to wait and guess. Some would add laugh or cry.
