Giroud finishes Juve to secure Milan's Champions League spot

The French veteran scores the only goal at Turin to push his side to a decisive victory in a head-to-head clash

If there were any drama before the kick-off, with Juventus still in theoretical contention for the ultimate Champions League place, it was soon gone.

Right there, at Turin, the Rossoneri topped their archrival on their ground 1-0 to book the UCL ticket for the next season.

Olivier Giroud netted five minutes before the half-time interval, and it proved to be enough to beat Juve. Massimiliano Allegri's slot just couldn't cope with the pressure and the current state, as they were recently docked 10 points, which proved crucial for their Champions League aspirations.

Stefano Pioli set up a perfect derby strategy, putting up a wall in front of Mike Magnian to prevent the opponents from any possible damage they could make. Even though it was a do-or-die game for them, the Bianconeri were miles away from the desired level, facing the inevitable 1-0 loss in the end.
