Ochieng, fondly known as TJM, tops the clean sheet standings with 13, putting him ahead of Allain Ngeleka on 12 and Humphrey Katasi on 11.

Job Ochieng and Kevin Ouru are also in the mix with 10 clean sheets each, setting up a tight battle with six matches left in the campaign.

I thank God for the performance so far. I will continue working hard to achieve my target for the season. This is not an individual effort but the work of my teammates and the technical bench,” said the former Ulinzi Stars goalkeeper.

The shot-stopper underlined his importance to the Glamour Boys in their recent clash against Kakamega Homeboyz, pulling off a series of crucial saves, including a decisive one-on-one stop to deny Derrick Otanga.

Kakamega Homeboyz raided us from the first minute. Games against them are always like that. I’m happy with my performance because I had a one-on-one save to deny Otanga,” he added.

Assistant coach Andrew Ongwae has backed Ochieng to maintain his push for the Golden Glove but warned that the race is far from settled.

He should remain grounded. He is doing a good job and should continue working hard. It’s not done because we still have six games. The battle for the Golden Glove remains intensely contested,” said Ongwae.

Shabana have also received a timely boost ahead of their upcoming clash against Kenya Police, with left back James Mazembe returning to training after an injury scare picked up in the Homeboyz match.

A CT scan was done, and it was nothing serious. We expect him to be available in our next game against Kenya Police on Saturday,” Ongwae confirmed.

The team is further strengthened by the return of defender Wycliffe Omondi, who had missed the previous match through suspension after accumulating five yellow cards.

His stand-in, Justus Munika, impressed on his first start of the season, giving the technical bench selection options heading into the final stretch.
