French centre-back of Congolese descent, Pierre Kalulu, will spend the next season in Turin
Thiago Motta has begun the great reconstruction of Juventus' squad, wanting to turn over a new leaf at Allianz Stadium and adequately implement all his ideas. However, the young strategist still has a long way to go to make a harmonious whole, whose part has become the defender Pierre Kalulu.

The defender arrived from AC Milan on a season-long loan - which the Old Lady paid 3.3 million euros - with a 14 million buyout clause. Including the bonuses, the Rossoneri could eventually earn more than 20 million euros in total if the Frenchman permanently moves to Turin. Not bad for a player who made only 11 appearances last season.
Kalulu was not Motta's first wish. In fact, he was only the third choice. The primary option was Riccardo Calafiori, who eventually ended up in London signing with Arsenal. His alternative, Jean-Clair Todibo, chose West Ham over Juve, and only then did Kalulu's name come up.
The 24-year-old is primarily a centre-back but can also play right-back. He'll earn 2.4 million euros in Turin, and if the Bianconeri decide to eventually buy him, he'll sign a four-year deal with Juventus. Kalulu is Olympique Lyon's child but has never debuted for the first team. He arrived in Milan in 2020, played 112 matches and scored three goals. Last season, he had problems with several injuries, which separated him from the pitch for as many as 39 games.
