Kibwage was part of the Harambee Stars squad that participated in the country's maiden CHAN tournament that ended at the quarter-final hurdle following a loss in penalty shootouts against Madagascar.
While representing Kenya, Kibwage also signed for record FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia in a deal that was confirmed by the club after the player met Gor Mahia deputy patron Eliud Owalo.
However, the player himself kept off the matter, choosing to concentrate on CHAN, but he has now broken his silence.
“After two and a half amazing seasons, my time at Tusker FC has come to an end,” Kibwage said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
The former KCB FC captain went ahead to express his gratitude to The Brewers.
“I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone at the club - my teammates, the technical bench, management, and most importantly, the fans - for the support and belief you have shown me during my journey here.
Wearing the Tusker jersey has been a true honour, and every moment on the pitch has been special,” added Kibwage.
The former AFC Leopards man also mentioned the growth that he has undergone at the 12-time FKF Premier League champions.
“I am grateful for the memories we created together, the challenges we overcame, and the successes we celebrated.
This has given me so much, not only as a footballer but also as a person, and I will carry those lessons with me into the next chapter of my career,” he stated.
Kibwage, who also previously turned out for Sofapaka FC, concluded by taking pride in his time at Tusker.
“To the Brewers family, thank you for making me feel at home. I leave with a heart full of gratitude and respect. Forever proud to have been part of Tusker FC.”
Kibwage is part of Gor Mahia's four new signings alongside Lewis Bandi, Mohamed Siraj and Byrne Omondi.
