Gor Mahia electoral board announced ahead of April poll

FKF Premier League side Gor Mahia has announced the chairperson and members of the club's electoral board ahead of the April club elections.

The long-awaited Gor Mahia club elections will be held on Sunday, 13 April 2025, in compliance with a directive by the Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) and the requirements of the Registrar of Sports.

During a press conference on Monday, 17 March, Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier announced the composition of the electoral board. Follow our WhatsApp channel for more news

The board, mandated to oversee the elections, comprises five members: four men and one woman.

The chairperson is Gichu Wahome, an experienced sports administrator and the current CEO of Sports Station.

Renowned legal scholar Prof. Ben Sihanya, a professor at the University of Nairobi School of Law and a private legal practitioner, will serve as a member.

Henry Ogoye, former acting managing director of the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), will also be a member. Ogoye, who previously chaired the board during the club's 2020 election, brings institutional memory.

Prof. Omondi Oketch, a linguistic expert and professor of language and communication at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK), will serve as a member.

The fifth member is CPA Rose Lilian Otili Anyango, an accountant and chairperson of the fan’s outfit, Kulundeng Original.

The board will begin operations immediately and be responsible for setting electoral rules, regulations, and eligibility criteria for candidates. Among its key tasks will be determining the financial requirements for those vying for various positions.
