Gor Mahia midfielder draws comparisons between Ghana and Kenyan Premier League

The attacking midfielder has been one of the best scoring players for Gor Mahia despite missing a month of action due to a shoulder injury
Gor Mahia attacking midfielder Ebenezer Adukwaw has drawn clear distinctions between the Ghana Premier League and the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL), highlighting what he believes sets the two competitions apart.

In an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport, the Ghanaian midfielder described his home league as highly physical, emphasizing that players in Ghana rely more on strength and endurance, while the Kenyan league, he noted, leans towards tactical intelligence and technical awareness.
"Since arriving in Kenya, about four months now, I have noticed that the Ghanaian league is more physical and you really have to be very physically fit to compete, while in Kenya, it is the complete contrast,the football is less physical but more tactical which honestly I am enjoying” Adukwaw stated.
Adukwaw joined Gor Mahia in August, during the off-season transfer window, from Ghanaian Premier League side Bechem United.
Since then, he has steadily adjusted to the demands of the FKF-PL and become one of K’Ogalo’s key attacking figures.
The former Karela United talisman, who is currently Gor Mahia’s second top scorer, has also shared how he handles the pressure of scoring goals at the record league champions.
He explained that his focus remains on the collective success of the team, noting that assisting his teammates when not in a scoring position helps him manage expectations and maintain balance.
"I understand the pressure and expectations that come with being a striker, especially as a foreigner, to score goals,” Adukwaw said.
“But for me, the team comes first. When I am in a position to score, I will do so, but when I am not, even if I have a slight chance yet my teammate is better placed, I will set them up. By providing an assist, I’m contributing to the team’s overall performance, and that makes me feel at ease,"
Since joining Gor Mahia, Adukwaw has notched two goals and two assists against his name in four outings, despite missing a month due to injury.
He announced his arrival in style, scoring a brace in Gor Mahia’s 2–0 win over Sofapaka, before registering his first assist in the 1–0 victory against KCB.
He added another assist in last week’s 2–0 triumph over defending champions Kenya Police FC, a result that saw the record 21 time league champions storm summit of the 18 team league standings.
