Ochieng says his team will be looking to start positively when they play Gor Mahia on Wednesday.
Gor Mahia midfielder Sydney Ochieng says his team will be looking to start strongly when the FKF Premier League restarts on Wednesday with a match between Wazito FC and Gor Mahia.
The FKF Premier League has been suspended for the last six weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta halted sporting activities in the country due to the increasing COVID-19 infections in the country.
Gor resumed training last week and according to Ochieng, the players are in high spirits and are looking forward to the opener against Francis Kimanzi-led Wazito on Wednesday.
“We are training well, the team spirit is high and everyone is looking forward to the resumption of the league on Wednesday. The goal is to start strongly when the league resumes, we want to move the table,” he told Mozzart Sport.
On the fitness front, Ochieng said the training program issued to players by their head coach Vaz Pinto helped them stay fit.
“I think almost everyone is fully fit because the coach gave us a good training program which we followed strictly. Right now we are just working on tactics as we wait for our opening match on Wednesday,” he added.
Wazito FC head coach Francis Kimanzi has warned his players not to underrate Gor Mahia when the two teams clash on Wednesday .
