The defensive duo mark the 2025 Mozzart Bet Cup finalists' first confirmed signings of the ongoing off-season transfer window.

In statements released on the club’s official handles, K’Ogalo announced that Kibwage joins from Tusker FC, where he served as vice-captain, while Bandi crosses over from arch-rivals AFC Leopards, where he too served as an assistant captain.

Both players, currently part of Kenya’s CHAN squad, have signed two-year contracts with K'Ogalo.

"Welcome to Mahia Kibwage,” the club posted, unveiling the centre-back’s arrival.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of Lewis Bandi. Welcome to Mahia, Lewis,” read the statement introducing the Leopards’ vice-captain.

The double capture comes on the same day Gor Mahia’s deputy patron, Eliud Owalo, met with both players. While he failed to provide more details of their meeting, Owalo commended them for their performances in the ongoing continental tournament.

"We owe a great debt of gratitude to our national soccer team for doing us proud so far,” he said after meeting Bandi and midfielder Austin Odhiambo.

“I expressed my gratitude to [Kibwage] and the entire national soccer team for their exemplary performance,” he added following his session with the Tusker defender.

The addition of Kibwage and Bandi takes Gor Mahia’s tally of new arrivals to five, joining fellow Harambee Stars duo of Bryne Omondi and Siraj Mohamed, as well as midfielder Fidel Origa from Bandari FC, but the trio are yet to be officially unveiled.

The club is also reportedly pursuing Bandari’s Swaleh Pamba, Posta Rangers forward Felix Oluoch and Darajani Gogo attacker Veron Ombima as part of a wider recruitment drive.

These signings come in the wake of a turbulent campaign for Gor Mahia, who endured a rare trophyless season, their first since 2016, prompting calls for a strategic rebuild.

Earlier this month, the club appointed Ghana international Charles Akonnor as head coach, signalling a renewed push for both domestic dominance and improved performances on the continental stage.
