Gor Mahia are set to enter into a partnership with Tanzanian kit manufacturer Ghalib Said Mohamed (GSM) Limited, which will see the company manufacture and distribute Gor Mahia kits in the country.

GSM produces and distributes kits for Tanzanian champions Yanga, among other clubs, and have a partnership that goes beyond merchandising with Young Africans.

The move, if it materializes, will help fill the replica gap being witnessed at Gor Mahia, and unscrupulous business people have since seized it, producing counterfeits that do not benefit the club financially. It could also open up the Kenyan kitting market for GSM.

Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ochola, accompanied by club CEO Raymond Oruo, have been in Tanzania for benchmarking, and he met Yanga President, Eng Hersi Ally Said, who is also GSM CEO, where a lot touching on football development was discussed.

“On my benchmarking tour in Dar es Salaam, I met Yanga FC President Eng. Hersi Said, and we discussed a lot in terms of football development in the region," Ochola, who is also eyeing the FKF presidency, disclosed in a social media post.

He added that the GSM boss is keen on having a deal with Gor Mahia that is geared towards developing a self-sustaining K’Ogalo.

“Yanga FC and Gor Mahia FC share a lot in common in terms of football success in this region. Eng. Hersi Said told me that he understands Gor Mahia is a big club and sought a partnership with us on the development and sustainability of Gor Mahia FC."

Ochola further disclosed that GSM and Gor Mahia will, starting next season, enter into a five-year kitting deal.

"I am also glad that soon we shall sign a kitting deal for 5 years with sports apparel manufacturer GSM beginning next season. The deal will see GSM distribute replica jerseys throughout the country and kit our team gallantly. Eng. Hersi Said is the CEO of GSM, and he's happy to be associated with the most successful club in the region, Gor Mahia FC."
