
Gor Mahia to face third-tier side Kibera Soccer in FKF Cup's round of 32

Holders Gor Mahia will begin their quest to clinch yet another Football Kenya Federation Cup against Kibera Soccer in the round of 32.
Gor who won the Cup two years ago after flooring AFC Leopards on post-match penalties in the final staged at Nyayo Stadium have been paired against the Division One side during the draw conducted on Thursday afternoon.
This year’s edition will be consisted by 32 teams with eleven of them being drawn from the top flight. Seven clubs from the second tier will also be contesting for top honours with eight being from Division One. Six clubs are from the regional and county leagues.
Returnees, Kakamega Homeboyz have a relatively easy fixture as they will travel to Nakuru and face Shalimar FC. Homeboyz had ben giving the cup a wide berth but are understood to have agreed to grace it once again as the club seeks to end the wait for first major title.
The 2018 champions Kariobangi Sharks will play the Nakuru based Marula FC while the 2017 winners AFC Leopards will tackle Division One side Zetech Titans.
Bandari who won the Cup in 2019 have a date with Administration Police who ply trade in the third tier.
Bidco United have been dawn against the Kericho based Lion FC while Tusker will hit the road to Garissa where they will play Berlin FC. KCB have been handed the Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) while Ulinzi Stars will play second tier side Kajiado FC.
Ordinarily, the winner of the title procures the right to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Gor are the most successful club in the history of the tournament as the record Kenyan champions have eight titles against their name, one ahead of their bitter rivals, Leopards.
