Mozzart Sport understands that K'Ogalo have identified the Ugandan as a potential replacement for Enock Morrison and are preparing a formal approach for the player as they seek to bolster their ranks for both domestic assignments and the CAF Champions League.
According to sources in Uganda, discussions between the parties have already begun, with Gor Mahia keen to add creativity and attacking quality to their midfield department following Morrison's departure.
Anukani, who featured in 23 league matches and scored four goals during the recently concluded campaign, is regarded as one of the most technically gifted midfielders in the Uganda Premier League despite enduring an injury-interrupted season.
Sports Light further states that KCCA would be willing to listen to offers should a suitable proposal be presented for the player.
The attacking midfielder returned to the Kasasiro Boys in 2024 on a three-year contract and currently has one year remaining on his deal at the Lugogo-based club.
Although injuries limited his influence during the 2025/26 campaign, Anukani remains highly rated for his creativity, vision, passing range, and ability to unlock stubborn defenses.
His technical qualities have seen him establish himself as one of Uganda's standout midfielders whenever fully fit.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed success throughout his career, winning both the FUFA Big League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup during the 2018/19 season.
For Gor, the pursuit of Anukani signals the club's intent to reinforce key areas as they prepare for another demanding season that includes a return to continental football.
After reclaiming the FKF Premier League title, K'Ogalo will once again carry Kenya's hopes in the CAF Champions League, a factor that could prove attractive to the Uganda international as he weighs his options.
The opportunity to feature regularly in Africa's premier club competition could also play a significant role in Anukani's ambitions at the international level.
The midfielder has previously represented the Uganda Cranes in competitions, including the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup and the African Nations Championship (CHAN), and a move to East Africa's most successful club could strengthen his chances of securing a place in Uganda's squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
