Greek tragedy at Wembley! Minnows stun lacklustre Three Lions

We've seen some crazy results and upsets over the years, but this one tops it all! England have suffered one of the most shocking defeats to Greece (2-1) at Wembley on Thursday night in the UEFA Nations League.

The Three Lions conceded two goals in the second half, while Jude Bellingham's late equalizer was worthless after Greek hero Pavlidis added one more deep into the stoppage time for the biggest win possible, their first-ever against England

Pavlidis headed home his first five minutes into the second half after dancing past a number of England players.

The visitors also saw three goals denied by narrow offside calls, which tells the story of England's miserable defense.

The hosts managed just a single shot on target before Bellingham struck an 87th-minute equaliser, carrying the weight of a nation again on his shoulders, just like he did at the Euros. His long-range effort went into the top corner in the 87th minute, which seemed like the decisive moment that would save the hosts and earn them at least a draw.

Alas, Greeks had some different ideas, with Pavlidis making the most of another melee in Pickford's box deep into the stoppage time, slotting it low for a sensational but deserved win.

England's interim manager Lee Carsley opted for a team withouth Harry Kane, and it proved to be a too much of an issue in the attack for the Euro 2024 runners-up.

They have another game during this international break, but as things stand, the FA will surely look for some other solution in the dugout.
