At Gusii Stadium, Gucha Stars produced a stunning 2-0 win over promotion-chasing Migori Youth, dealing the side a significant blow in their title bid.

Goals in each half from Steve Odongo and Ronny Onyango proved the difference as the Kisii-based outfit celebrated back-to-back 2-0 wins, following last weekend’s victory over former FKF Premier League side Nzoia Sugar.

The victory lifted the Sammy Okoth-led side to 12th place with 25 points, just 12 points shy of the automatic promotion spots, signaling their growing momentum despite being league debutants.

At Eldoret Showground, Soy United suffered a 1-0 defeat to visiting Naivas FC, marking their first home loss of the season.

Pius Omachi’s solitary strike proved decisive, as the retailers ended a four-match winless run and moved to 28 points, reigniting their promotion push in their third attempt after failed back-to-back attempts in the previous campaigns.

The result ended what had been an impressive seven-match unbeaten turnaround streak for Soy United in quest for promotion.

At Mashuuru Complex in Kajiado, league newcomers Equity Bank FC staged a commanding display, defeating Kibera Black Stars 2-1 in a tightly fought encounter.

Rashid Moyo’s brace proved decisive for the Bankers under coach James Kamara Mbezwa, as they leapfrogged closer to the automatic promotion slots, just one point behind Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) in their first time of asking.

For Kibera Black Stars, the defeat was a blow to their promotion ambitions, leaving them eight points adrift of MOFA in their quest to climb the log ladder.

At Mumboha Grounds in Luanda, former FKF Premier League side FC Talanta secured a crucial 1-0 victory over host Luanda Villa FC.

Evans Malo’s ninth-minute strike was enough to give Jackson Gatheru’s charges the maximum points, lifting them to sixth place on 32 points and reigniting their campaign for an immediate return to the FKF Premier League following last season’s relegation.

The losses added mounting pressure on coach Francis Chinjili and his charges in the relegation battle as they sit dangerously above the red zone.

The side sits 15th on 22 points, just one point clear of the drop zone, with Chinjili yet to record a win in charge aside from a single draw.

In Murang’a, debutants Kabati Youth claimed a vital 2-0 win over visiting Mwatate United, taking a bold step in their fight to avoid the drop.

The victory, guided by coach Haji Bilali, propelled them to 14th place with 24 points, three points above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Mwatate United remain entrenched in the relegation zone, sitting third from bottom on 15 points, deepening their survival concerns.
